Job Description: FLEXIBLE LOCATIONS: We are seeking candidates who are currently within or would relocate to the Essentia Health service area. Ideal locations include, but are not limited to, Duluth, MN; Fargo, ND; Brainerd, MN; Bismarck, ND; and other communities within Minnesota, North Dakota, and North-Western Wisconsin.
Education Qualifications:
The Director is responsible and accountable for all departmental operational issues, will be readily accessible to pharmacy staff, and leads departmental long-range planning. The Director demonstrates leadership and commitment to total quality management including customer satisfaction and performance improvement. The Director of Pharmacy Operations must also be able to manage the ongoing, day-to-day activities of the department's retail pharmacy employees and programs. The Director adheres to and supports all departmental policies, procedures and initiatives.
Work Experience:
- 5 years or greater total years of pharmacy experience preferred with demonstrated successful leadership experience.
- Previous management experience including leading professionals and support staff across multiple sites.
- Experience working with Epic or another electronic health record preferred
Education Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree is required
- Graduate degree (e.g., M.S., M.B.A.) in a related field is desirable
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test
- Must be licensed in MN and WI within 90 days of hire

- Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Minnesota and Wisconsin Boards of Pharmacy
If not licensed as a Registered Pharmacist upon hire, the candidate must have a Pharmacy Intern License and/or is eligible to work as an intern and must become a Registered Pharmacist within 90 days of hire:
- Minnesota: Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Intern through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
- Wisconsin: In the final months of a Pharmacy program. No registration required
- North Dakota: Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern through the North Dakota Board of Pharmacy
- Ongoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state's Board of Pharmacy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within 90 days from hire date
- Immunization Delivery Certification completed within 1 year from hire date
- Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer
